ABOUT OUMIE'S GRANDE

At Oumies Grandé, we are more than just an Agro-processing enterprise; we are a testament to tradition, a hub of innovation, and a home to sustainability. Founded in 2021 by the visionary young black female entrepreneur, Muofhe Ratshikombo, our roots are deeply embedded in the rich soil of South Africa, stretching our branches across the SADC region and aspiring for global reach.

Our Essence: With a dedicated team of 8 permanent and 14 seasonal workers, we passionately manufacture, supply, and distribute traditional handmade fruits, vegetables, and condiments. Our products are a celebration of heritage, designed to evoke the warmth of home with every bite.

Our Vision: We aim to be recognized globally as a leading Agro-processing enterprise, revered not just for our quality products but for our commitment to sustainable agricultural farming practices.

Our Mission: To bring the authentic taste of South African tradition to the table, reminding our customers of their roots while offering unparalleled quality.

The expansion of the business into a factory and its operation in Limpopo and Gauteng are testaments to Muofhe’s consistency, patience, and passion.

Muofhe’s story is an inspiring narrative for aspiring entrepreneurs, especially those from challenging backgrounds. It underscores the importance of education, the value of roots and family inspiration, and the impact of persistence and passion in realizing one’s dreams. Oumie’s Grandè stands as a symbol of what can be achieved when one combines personal motivation with a dedication to community and quality.

About The Founder & Director

Muofhe’s journey to creating Oumie’s Grandè is a beautiful example of how personal dedication, family inspiration, and education can converge to build a successful business. Starting from the humble beginnings of helping her grandmother in a home tuck shop, through recognizing a problem with their product quality, to pursuing higher education for better understanding and solutions, her story reflects the essence of entrepreneurial spirit.

The decline in the quality of their mango atchaar was a pivotal moment for Muofhe. Instead of accepting this decline as an inevitable part of their business, she saw it as a challenge to overcome. Her decision to study Agricultural Development and Extension was driven by a clear purpose: to improve their product and, by extension, their business.

Financial constraints often deter many from pursuing higher education, but Muofhe’s determination and persuasion show the importance of investing in oneself. Her time at the university and her internship at ABInBEV (SAB) were not just about gaining knowledge and experience but were steps towards her larger goal.

Launching Oumie’s Grandè in January 2021 was a significant milestone. Naming the business after her grandmother not only honors her grandmother’s influence but also roots the business in its familial and community-oriented beginnings.
